Alejandro Jodorowsky Prullansky (Tocopilla, Chile February 17, 1929) is a clown and Chilean artist of Jewish-Ukrainian origin, naturalized French in 1980. Among its many facets highlight the writer (novelist, playwright, poet and essayist), theater director and film writer, actor, mime, puppetry, film composer, sculptor, painter and film designer, cartoonist, illustrator, instructor tarot psychomagic psychotherapist and healer. Write interchangeably in Spanish-books-and French-his comics and some trials, so that, following the concept of George Steiner, can be considered an offshore writer.
He founded, along with Roland Topor and Fernando Arrabal, the Panic Group. His most publicized and controversial contribution is psicomagia, a technique that combines shamanic rituals, theater and psychoanalysis, the intended effects are causing the patient a healing catharsis.
At the age of twenty burned his photographs and was Chile, calling in Paris in 1953. Has lived fifteen years in Mexico, between 1960 and 1974 (although between 1972 and 1974, lived in New York) and from late 1974 resides in France, which became a citizen. Thus has dual nationality, Chilean and French.
